Week Six
Hello friends!! What a week! WOW has it been long!!
Something CRAZY happened on Wednesday--we found FIVE new investigators!!! For some perspective, our mission goal is for each companionship to find 4 new investigators each week so five in one day is insane!! We actually found almost all of them at this one little trailer park. So what happened was the day before some elders near the area had sent us a referral to a girl named Cathy who we should visit, so they gave us the address they had for her and it ended up just being the address to an entire trailer park with more than 50 homes! So we were just trying to knock doors and hope we found her or someone who knew her. The person in the second trailer we tried actually knew her and pointed us in the right direction; so we found where she lives, but she wasn't home. Her mom, Alice, WAS though and we actually ended up sharing a message and prayer with her instead! We also passed this man while we were leaving Alice's house and he shouted, "God bless you!!" as we passed and then gestured for us to come talk to him. And we ended up testifying to him (Waylin), his wife, Rose, and her dad, John of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and it was a super powerful moment. We're invited to come back this week! The Lord definitely put us in the exact right place at the right time so that we could find all these children of His on that day. I know He directs this work!! Our other investigator we found that day is actually the 8 year old son of a less active member in the ward. His name is Marius and he is the sweetest! We're so excited to teach him!!
One of the highlights of this week was that we got to volunteer at a senior center to serve lunch. It was so much fun!! Those sweet old people are just the greatest. I wish I had taken pictures, but we'll be back again this week or next week for sure!
Another big highlight of the week has been GENERAL CONFERENCE!! It honestly could not have come at a better time. I really needed those messages right now! If you weren't able to watch all the sessions, I would encourage you to go back and find them again!! Some of my favorites were Elder Holland, Elder Hallstrom, and President Callister. But WOW were they all amazing! I know without a shadow of a doubt that all the messages that were shared were inspired by God and were His words to us, just like it says in Doctrine and Covenants 1:38!
I love you all so so so much and I hope everything is going super duper for you! Keep me updated on your lives please!! I'm so grateful for everyone who emailed this week. I don't have time to read them right now, but I'm printing them off so that I can enjoy them on the way home and later today :)
Lots of love,
Sister Bohman
