Farmington Week One!!!

Hello friends!! I'm in Farmington! It has been a crazy week but an amazing week and I am so excited for this next transfer with Sister Darlington. Little bit about her: she's from Montana and she is absolute SUNSHINE. I love her so much already!!

We got to meet our new Mission president and his wife on Saturday and not going to lie it didn't really feel real but they are amazing!! They have such an incredible enthusiasm for the work and I'm just really excited to see where this mission goes in the next 3 years with them. I feel pretty lucky to have the opportunity to work with two different mission presidents, my first half with President Adams and my second half with President Ackerman. We talked a lot about how the day of miracles has not ceased and if we have the faith then we will be able to see miracles each day. So me and Sister Darlington are really working on having the faith to see miracles.

A little bit about my area. Farmington 2nd is the biggest ward (congregation) in Farmington area-wise and the one of the smallest active-member-wise. Part of our area goes to some of the reservation and all of our area has a large population of Native Americans, mostly Navajo. I missed the Navajo people so much when I was in Durango so I'm really happy to be back around them. They are so kind and for the most part really love missionaries and they have the sweetest smiles and I just love them. A lot of the work we do in 2nd Ward is trying to reactivate families that have fallen away. We have a lot of less active members in in our ward that we're working with. We don't have any active investigators, but we know that's going to change soon because Sister Darlington and I are really willing to work and we know that the miracles will come as we work hard and love the people and talk to everyone!

I've decided my mottos this transfer are:

- Forget yourself and go to work
- Expect miracles
- Come what may and love it

As I focused on these three things this past week I have had such a better attitude and I've been able to find more joy in my service. Missionary work is always joyful but it's also really hard and it can be easy to focus on how hard it is and all the ways that I feel like I need to improve and be better and the things that aren't going well. BUT this past week as I've been focusing on the possibility of miracles, not worrying so much about myself, and just loving whatever comes, I have been so much happier and I know that if I keep it up the way I was able to focus this week then I'll be able to have an amazing transfer in the Farmington 2nd Ward!!

Moral of the story: God is so good and so aware of us. Every moment of every day is orchestrated by heaven!!

Lots and lots of love,
Sister Bohman
