Farmington Week Five

Hello, friends!! MANY MIRACLES THIS WEEK!!

Monday: We were trying to decide where to go next with the short amount of time we had left in the evening. We were heading to one area and felt like we should try a few people in a different area instead. When we got to that area we tried the home of a woman who used to be taught by missionaries, but no one answered the door. Just as we turned around to leave, she came around the corner of the house! They had lost their dog and were out looking for it. If we had been there a moment sooner or later we probably would have missed her!

Tuesday: We met with a soon-to-be-returning member (Sister Jones) and it was so great!! She told us about how you gained her testimony and the example she wants to set for her family and now we're going to work with her to help her get there. It was also a neat discussion because we had been planning on sharing a little video, but I felt prompted while we were talking to share something and it ended up being exactly what Sister Jones needed!

Wednesday: I got to spend the day with Sister Turpin, one of the sisters I was in the MTC with! It was a super great day! We had an appointment fall through and we prayed to know where we needed to go next and felt prompted to go to an adjacent neighborhood and were able to see an investigator named Alys, who's been impossible to catch for the past month and a half! It was my first time meeting her and she was so sweet! I'm super excited to go back ON Tuesday :)

Thursday: Okay so this one's kind of silly but my mom just sent me the CUTEST dress and on Thursday a pink highlighter exploded all over the front... The first time I ever wore it... BUT all the highlighter came out!! It was such a tender mercy. And it was a good reminder that there is no problem too small for God to care about! If it matters to us, it matters to Him!

Friday: I spent Friday night and Saturday morning with Sister Dame while Sister Darlington was in Bloomfield with Sister Allred. I had never served around Sister Dame before, so it was fun to get to know her! She is HILARIOUS! That night, we stayed in the area of an appointment that fell through because we knew God had sent us to that spot for a reason and we met a great lady named Miriam who said she would love for us to come back because we can all use a little more Jesus! I completely agree!

Saturday: We started teaching 2 NEW PEOPLE. Which is HUGE because the past 5 weeks combined, we had only started teaching one new person. So 2 in one day was crazy. The first lady's name is Jane. She knows a TON about the church because she has really good friends that are LDS. She's even read the whole Book of Mormon and watched General Conference! I'm excited to teach her. She has a really beautiful understanding of who God is and we bonded over our favorite Bible verses (1 John 4:7-8)! The other new person we started teaching is Johnny. Johnny's cousin is actually a member of our congregation! Did I tell you about last Saturday when we felt prompted to try someone we had come across in our records and when we got there he was sitting on his porch? That's Johnny! Our first lesson with him was SO Spirit-led. Our plan went completely out the window, but it was a really neat experience to just let the Spirit lead 100%. There were a lot of pauses when we had to just listen to what the Holy Ghost was telling us to say next, and I was reminded that silence truly is golden. I haven't had a lesson quite like that in a long time and it was so refreshing! Johnny is really contemplative and quiet and I could tell that lots of wheels were turning in his head while we talked.

Sunday: LeAnn (another returning member) and her daughter, Sadie, came to church today! Sadie is 7 and is really shy so they've never stayed for the 2nd or 3rd hour before because she was too nervous to go to primary (the classes for the little kids). But an active member showed them where Sadie's class was and Sadie went! And after church she was SO happy! She goes, "Guess what! I made new friends! And I learned about Jesus!!!" It was the cutest thing. She then told us the story of when Jesus feeds the 5,000 because that's what she learned about in primary :)

Like I said, there were just a LOT of miracles this week. A lot a lot. God is SO good and it is SO good to be one of His missionaries!!

From Farmington with love,
Sister Bohman

(Sorry friends, I'm getting tired of saying "lots and lots of love", but know that I still love you lots and lots!!)

Nice things to read:
- "Stand Up Inside and Be All In" by Elder Gary B. Sabin
- "My dear brothers and sisters, now anytime you feel you are being asked to do something hard—give up a poor habit or an addiction, put aside worldly pursuits, sacrifice a favorite activity because it is the Sabbath, forgive someone who has wronged you—think of the Lord beholding you, loving you, and inviting you to let it go and follow Him. And thank Him for loving you enough to invite you to do more."
—Elder S. Mark Palmer, from "Then Jesus Beholding Him Loved Him"
