Durango Week Two
Hello, friends!! It’s been a good week in Durango, Colorado!!
To start off, here’s the BIGGEST miracle of the week…
On Friday we knocked on a door that we thought was the apartment of a potential investigator named Chelsea. Turns out, it wasn’t the right apartment, but that didn’t matter because they answered the door. It was a young girl named Madeline, who had talked to missionaries before and had just moved to that apartment. And GUESS WHAT!! There was a Madeline on our list of potential investigators (as missionaries, we keep a record of different people we talk to who show interest in learning more so that we can remember their contact info and so that if new missionaries get put in the area they can still find them) but there was no address on our paper, so we had no way of finding her, but there she was!! This was the long lost Madeline!! She told us her family is interested in learning more, so we’ll be in touch with them J. We were just so amazed because this Madeline who’s name we read on a piece of paper could have been literally ANYWHERE in the entire city of Durango and we found her that day when we accidently knocked on the wrong door. The Lord directs His work!!
The NEXT big miracle of the week was that we had an investigator come to church today (Louisa) and she brought her mother with her!! Now this might not sound like too big of a deal, but here’s the thing: Louisa’s mom has been pretty open about her opinion that Louisa should NOT be involved with the church and wasn’t too happy with her talking to missionaries, but she came today!! And one of the speakers made her cry!! In a good way!! And she told us afterwards, “Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter. I can tell you’re good people.” It was so great!! And all the members of the ward were so welcoming to her and it was just incredible. Hooray!!
Sister Whipple and I are seeing miracles everyday here in Durango. It is such a great place to be serving!! Life is good because God is good!! J
I love you all!!
Lots and LOTS of love,
Sister Bohman
