Bloomfield Week Eleven

Hello friends!! In honor of my ELEVENTH week in Bloomfield and also Thanksgiving, here's 11 things I'm grateful for (in only kind of a particular order)...

1. My companion, Sister Withers. Wow is that sister an angel. She is so so patient with me as I'm trying to learn the ropes of missionary work.

2. The "I don't know, I'm new!" excuse. I don't use it too often, but I'm realizing how grateful I am for it because I only have ONE MORE WEEK of being a greenie. Then I'll be officially done with training and I won't be able to use the "I'm new" excuse anymore. Oh, well, I think I'm mostly getting the hang of things so I probably won't need to use that too much anymore anyways.

3. Sister Corpus and Sister Kocherhans (the other sisters we live with in the trailer). These sisters are some of the lights of my life. I love my trailer family.

4. The Book of Mormon. Every time I read that book I get something new and inspiring out of it. EVERY TIME. It really is the word of God and it is so wonderful.

5. Prayer because prayer works. That's all I have to say about that.

6. Letters in the mail because every time I get home to a letter in the mailbox it just LIGHTS up my day.

7. The fact that I was able to attend THREE baptisms this weekend. That was amazing. One of them was for Dustriana, who was ready to be baptized and then moved to Farmington. I got to play piano and Sister Withers gave a talk at the baptism and it was so nice. I love her!!

8. The Bloomfield ward's bishop. Bishop Kropf was just called about a month ago and he is phenomenal. He's also the seminary teacher and know the scriptures real well. I'm super grateful for how missionary-work-oriented he is.

9. The members in this area are also phenomenal. We have referrals coming out our ears and everyone is always super  willing to help out by coming to appointments and feeding us dinners!

10. The church's #LighttheWorld initiative that we're doing again this year. I love the message it shares that as we follow the Savior by helping others in little ways and that can make us become lights in a darkening world. (See Isaiah 60:1-4 for some beautiful insight on that)

11. The opportunity to learn and grow more than I ever thought was possible. Being a missionary is REALLY STINKING hard, but it's so worth it. I've only been out for 3 months and I've already learned to rely on the Savior more than I ever had. Somehow, every day I'm out here the gospel just feels more and more true. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing.

It was a hard week, but a good one. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you always remember that this sister loves you!!

Lots of love,
Sister Bohman
