Winslow Week One
Hello, friends!! I love Winslow, Arizona and I LOVE Sister Baird. This week was SO good and I'm way excited for the transfer.
Highlights!
- Took a 4 hour roadtrip on the transfer van (basically the missionary bus) from Farmington to Gallup to Holbrook to Winslow, which was pretty fun! AND I get to make the drive back to Farmington again TONIGHT for mission leadership council on Tuesday... woohoo!
- Me and Sister Baird clicked really fast. She wants to work hard and she is SO good at following the Spirit. We have had some GOOD lessons this past week together!! I can't believe she's only been out for 3 months. She's amazing!
- We are teaching a part-member family, the Edgmons, and the nonmember husband is really opening up! His daughter was just given a baby blessing in church a week ago and it really softened his heart. He's starting to know for himself that his family needs the gospel. I'm optimistic that he will be baptized soon :)
- Another person we are teaching, Jodie, set a date to be baptized at the end of December! She is SO sweet and so ready to give God everything she has. She has really good support from a cute older couple in the ward that have taken her under their wing. They have taught her so much and she's ready to run with it! Member missionary work is so important!!
- We helped an older lady wrap Christmas presents for all her grandkids and it was SO fun. Thanks Mom & Dad for teaching me how to wrap presents well!!
- I met a lot of the members here and they are just really amazing. I have really big shoes to fill from the last sister they had, Sister Sheppard, but they've all been really kind to me. Here's what I get the most from everyone I get introduced to: "You're from TEXAS? Well you don't sound like it!" Haha I have gotten that at least 6 times this week... Sister Baird and I just look at each other and laugh
So I'm super happy! But goodness I'm tired!! We are very busy! But a busy missionary is a happy missionary! :)
The changing power of Jesus Christ is real! I've seen it this week in my life and in the lives of people we're teaching. The gospel is true. God lives. He is taking care of you!
All my love,
Sister Bohman
