Durango Week Nineteen

Hello friends!! This week has been crazy busy and amazing!! So many miracles!!

Monday: Got our investigator Phillip started reading the Book of Mormon. We read chapter one together and he felt the Spirit really strong and told us, "I've never wanted to read anything in my life and you've got me excited to read this!!" So good. We also had a super great talk with Brady about strengthening our desire to repent by strengthening our relationship with our Heavenly Father and it was super spiritual.

Tuesday: worked at our beloved food bank. I love that place. And we saw Daniel and had a good heart to heart on God's forgiveness and forgiving ourselves. We also got to do family history and, no joke, every time I do family history I get more and more into doing family history.

Wednesday: had an AMAZING lesson with one of my favs, Sister Baxstrom. We talked about how we can strengthen ourselves and our families by living the gospel and how that's like in the Book of Mormon how Moroni builds up fortifications against their enemies. (Alma 50:1-6) and she LOVED it!

Thursday: met with Randy and had a super great discussion on personal revelation using President Nelson's talk from the April General Conference. My favorite part was Sister Higgins' analogy that when we pray we have to take time to listen--we're talking to God and having a conversation, not just leaving a voicemail. It seemed to help Randy a lot and now he's going to be working on listening more when he prays. I know when we do that, the revelation comes!!

Friday: ANOTHER great lesson with Phillip. He's become really great friends with a lady in the ward, Sister Hushion, and she's just amazing at answering his questions! And we're all having dinner on Wednesday! Today we also got to help out our friend Tina move apartments and we were washing the dust from being in a storage unit off of her dishes and her whole kitchen is sunflower themed and it's just super cute.

Saturday: ANOTHER great lesson with Daniel. He is doing so so well. He read from the Book of Mormon and he really wanted to understand what he was reading and he TOOK NOTES!! That's HUGE for an investigator. We had a great lesson on repentance and WOW. His spirit just shines brighter and brighter each time we see him. And tonight we got to go to a baptism for the other ward and it was so beautiful. The closing hymn we sang was "How Great Thou Art" and it was such a spiritual time reflecting on how great the Lord is. How wonderful it is that He allows us limitless chances, even though we repeatedly fall short. How wonderful it is that His love for us never wavers and never fades. How wonderful He is!! It was a beautiful night.

Sunday: Sunday was an absolutely perfect day. It just could not have been better. FIRST we had Louie AND Phillip at Sacrament meeting and they sat with members and it was great. SECOND, we had Blake come to Sunday School and (for background, he told us he would ONLY go to Sunday School) after class Brother Mann invited him to go to Elders Quoru and HE SAID YES. And apparently it went really well. THIRD, we had dinner with Louie and the wonderful Johnson family and it was SO GOOD. My favorite part was when we were talking about the joy that comes from giving our hearts to the Lord and he said, "I NEED to be baptized!!!" And we were all like Yeah!!!!!! It was so good. FOURTH, we got to help our less active sister out around her house and I just love service. FIFTH, we ended the night with helping the wonderful Sister Rogers make some bracelets for some ladies in the ward. It was an absolutely perfectly wonderful Sabbath day. God is good. So so so good.

And here we are! I hope you all have had a wonderful beautiful weekend!!

Lots and lots of love,
Sister Bohman
