Durango Week Three
Highlights!
-We locked our keys in the apartment on Tuesday so spent all day trying to get around with the bus. It was quite the adventure!! And it was so fun because everyone on the buses seemed to know each other. It inspired me to want to take the bus more when I’m back in Provo in 2019. We’ll see! We also saved tons of miles that day. We came up with a new motto for talking to people on the bus: “sharing smiles and saving miles!”. And don’t tell me it’s terribly cheesy because I already know
-We had TONS of incredible lessons this week!! Wow wow wow. The church is true.
-Volunteered at a retirement home for elderly people who have lost lots of their memories or are mentally handicapped and our favorite old man, Merle, stood up and said he would like to conduct us while we sang “God Bless America”. So he did and it was so fun. It reminded me of that one part in Mr. Kruger’s Christmas where he imagines he’s conducting the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was real cute. Merle’s my favorite. Seriously though volunteering at that place is a highlight every week.
-We had an incredible missionary meeting this week (we have one every Thursday) and we talked a lot about prayer. I have such a testimony of prayer. I know that prayer works and that God really is listening to us when we pray. I know He is our Father and loves to hear from us!
-A man we started talking to on the street told us our name tags are beautiful with our names and the Savior’s name next to each other. He was such a nice man. His name is Eddie and we will definitely be back to share a message with him soon!!
-I took over the area for 24 hours for exchanges (when we trade companions for the day for learning/training purposes) and I didn’t get us lost at all! That was a big miracle!!
It was such a great week!! I am absolutely LOVING Durango! It really is great to be a missionary. I love you all and appreciate all the prayers and support. You’re the best!!
Lots of love,
Sister Bohman
