Durango Week Nine

Hello, friends!!

FIRST of all... RANDY CAME TO CHURCH!!! That's a HUGE deal considering that one of the first things he ever told us was that he doesn't like church. BUT HE CAME!! And I KNOW he felt the Spirit and I KNOW he doesn't regret going. I felt like the happiest missionary in the world when we saw him there today. AND he came even though it was crazy blizzard-ing and it would have been really easy for him to make that excuse. RANDY CAME TO CHURCH EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HARD!! God is good, my friends.

Second, I GOT TO GO BACK TO BLOOMFIELD FOR 24 HOURS! Sister Withers (my first companion & trainer) is still in Bloomfield and she ended up being out sister training leader this transfer, which basically means we both get to spend the day with her and she just makes sure we're doing well spiritually, emotionally, physically, as a companionship, as a teacher, etc. SO I got to spend the day with her companion in Bloomfield while she worked with Sister Whipple here in Durango. AND tonight I'm going to Bloomfield to spend Tuesday with Sister Withers there. I am SO excited to work with her again!!! It was SO much fun to be in Bloomfield again and see some of the people over there that I LOVE and I'm so so excited to go back tonight. God is good, my friends.

Third, it's been such a good week!! We had some great lessons and I feel GREAT! Tired, but great!! One of my favorite lessons was definitely with a new investigator named Louie. We knocked on his door because a past missionary in the area told us she thought an investigator named Laura lived there and we ended up meeting Louie instead. At first he was kind of stand-offish, but as we talked he really opened up! We shared the old Easter video, "Because of Him" with Louie and he LOVED it! Something he said really stood out to me: he told us he used to be really focused on God and he went to church and read the Bible and felt pretty close to Him, but he's kind of fallen a bit and he said, "it's like there's a hole in here [pointing to his heart] now." I've been thinking about that. I KNOW God is our Heavenly Father. Our Father. He is a part of us and we're a part of Him. When we put Him on the back burner and distance ourselves (accidentally or on purpose), of course there's a hole inside! We're missing a piece of who we are! I'm so grateful to know who God is and to know that He loves me. Following Him and focusing on Him makes me feel complete. I'm excited to help Louie find Him again too.

Because God is good, my friends.

Lots and lots and lots of love,
Sister Bohman'
