Week One

I still can't believe I'm actually at the MTC! It is absolutely AMAZING here. The moment I got dropped off there was a sister missionary waiting to pick me up and everything went so fast that there wasn't really time to get emotional, which was awesome. (VERY smart on the MTC's part. They definitely know what they're doing!) Getting my badge was the greatest thing EVER. It was SO great. The rest of the day went by pretty fast. I met my district, teachers, and companion, Sister Smith. She is the absolute sweetest. She's really good at balancing out my tendency to get super stressed and she's great at telling me, "it'll be okay". I'm SO grateful for her! My district is amazing. We have 4 of us sisters and 12 elders. Half of us are going to New Mexico and the other half is off to Indiana, Indianapolis--I'm gonna miss them a whole lot!! Anyways, day one was fantastic and the Spirit here at the MTC is kind of indescribable. They call it "the temple" and I completely understand why! That first day here I think I felt the Spirit stronger than ever. It's so wonderful here!!!

The rest of the week went by crazy fast as well, but looking back it definitely seems like it was more than a week... During sacrament meeting on Sunday I got so confused because it felt like I hadn't taken the sacrament in so long, but then I thought about it and realized it had actually just been a week, it was just the longest but also quickest week ever. That doesn't make sense, but that's the only way I can describe it! We had a lot of classes and learned a TON and we've already taught 5 lessons! It's amazing how much you can love someone who you've only ever talked to for 10 to 25 minutes. That love is a testament to me that this really is God's work and the people we teach really are His children. It is so great to be a missionary. Even though being here is a bit of an emotional roller coaster at times, the peace and comfort that I have knowing that the Lord is on our side and He will not let us fail. It's crazy to think that this important work is entrusted to such young adults, but I know that the Lord qualifies those He calls. I know that I've been called to serve in the New Mexico Farmington mission for a reason and I cannot wait to get out there and bring the joyful message of the gospel to God's children there. I love being a missionary!!

Scripture of the week:
"Therefore, continue your journey and let your hearts rejoice; for behold, and lo, I am with you even unto the end. "
